“The hum of bees is the voice of the garden”
– Elizabeth Lawrence.
Native bees and honeybees, are vital for the preservation of ecological balance and biodiversity in nature.
Bees are responsible for the reproduction of almost 90% of the world’s flowering plants. They play a major role in our existence.
With a sharp eye for the most minute details of honeybee anatomy “SEEING BEES” was an outdoor photo exhibition featuring a series of large format images created by internationally renowned photojournalist Dan Winters, using a scanning electron microscope. The exhibit allowed visitors to experience bees as they have rarely been seen before. This interactive experience raised awareness and fostered appreciation for the essential role these fascinating creatures play in our ecosystem.
This community event created connections and built community focused on protecting wild places of Texas and even the smallest of creatures we depend upon. Sharing a commitment to taking remarkable action in conservation and land stewardship, the event was presented by Wild Spirit Wild Places in collaboration with Round Rock Honey, Waterloo Greenway, and H-E-B.
