Wild Talk: Rock the River Clean Up

Please join Wild Spirit Wild Places and Desert Door Texas Sotol for a river cleanup on the Guadalupe River!

Wednesday, August 2nd

The trip down the river will provide a fun way to enjoy nature and do something good along the way!

Registration - 8:30 am: We will gather at the The Gruene Light Bar at Rockin' R. At event registration, instructions will be given, and cleanup equipment will be provided.

Launch - 9:00 am: We’ll launch our rafts onto the river at 9:00 a.m. Float duration will last about an hour and a half.

Pick Up - 11:00 am: Once we reach the end of the float, we’ll hop on our shuttle and take our trashy treasures back to The Gruene Light Bar.

Post Cleanup 11:30- 1:00: Prizes, refreshing drinks courtesy of Desert Door, lunch by El Arroyo, and live music for all of our WSWP volunteers!

What to Bring: Please wear clothing made to get wet and water shoes. Gloves, sunscreen and hats are recommended.

About the Guadalupe River

Flowing from Kerr County to the Gulf of Mexico, the Guadalupe River supplies important water, recreation, and economic resources for us all. Multiple wildlife species also depend on the river as habitat for their sustenance and well-being. Let’s work together to improve the overall quality of this precious water resource for residents across Texas and threatened and endangered species residing in the Guadalupe River Basin.
